An interesting assortment of alpine perennials which are easy to grow and suitable to grow almost anywhere in your garden. Add a range of foliage, flowers, colours and textures to your displays. Varieties will be selected at random and include types such as; Dianthus, Iberis, Erodium, Santolina, Pritzelago, Arabis, Armeria, Sedum, Veronica, Saxifraga, Lamium, Chiastophyllum, Leptinella, Lewisia, Potentilla, Cotilla, Sisyrinchium, Viola, Aquilegia and Silene.Grow in full sun or semi shade on moist but well drained soil. On heavier soils, incorporate plenty of grit to improve drainage, prior to planting. Avoid sites that sit wet in winter as plants may rot in cold, wet conditions. After planting, it is advisable to apply a layer of coarse grit across the soil surface so that it surrounds the plant. This will help to improve drainage of water away from the crown of the plant, thereby reducing leaf and crown rot. Deadhead faded flowers to extend the flowering season. • Although perfectly hardy, these alpine plants are best grown on in cool, sheltered conditions until spring to prevent them rotting in cold, wet soils. Plant out in spring, in a sunny or semi shaded position. Alpine plants thrive in fertile, free draining soils. Incorporate plenty of well rotted compost and some sharp grit if necessary, to improve soil conditions.
